The Spring Break Packing List
Let's keep it simple
If you’re lucky enough to be going somewhere warm soon, we’ve done all the scrolling, searching, and curating for you. Here’s what we’re eyeing (and have tried) for this year’s Spring getaway.
A Shorts Set
As much as we absolutely love this top and short set from Isabel Marant it might not be in everyone’s budget. So what about this cute pair of shorts and matching top from Lilly Pulitzer? And if embroidery isn’t your thing, Frank & Eileen has a more classic option.
A Simple Dress or a Jump Suit
Something to dress up and down. Keep it simple. Anything from a bright jumpsuit like this one from Suzie Kondi (perfect for the pool and then again with strappy sandals and big hoops at night) to a simple linen dress (this white one is pretty too).
A Skirt Set
We’re really into the matching set concept, especially for travel. Wear them together, and it feels like a dress, and wear them apart to create other outfits. The top from this fun green set (and all of them actually) would look great with the Frank & Eileen shorts, and then wear the skirts with a simple tank or over a one-piece bathing suit. Here’s another cute skirt/top option from H&M, and this one is so pretty too! And if you’re more of a pants gal, may we suggest this gorgeous Farm Rio matching shirt and pants.
Linen Pants
These Madewell drawstring pants are the perfect pair you’ve been looking for. No extra pockets in the back, not too high-waisted (and not too low).
Tanks and Linen Tees
We love these not too loose, not too tight tanks from Everlane and suggest packing white, black, and gray at minimum. The brown and green are so good, too. Check out the cut of these tanks (so flattering), and it comes in a pretty vibrant pink. For tees, our favorite linen ones (a best seller too) are these from J. Crew.
Gauze Shirt
Wear this shirt on the plane, over your bathing suit at the tiki bar, and out at night with linen pants. There’s something about a Xirena shirt that makes you instantly feel chic and cool.
Swim Suit
We were recently gifted this bikini top and this bottom from Monday Swimwear (love this blue color, it’s even better in person), and our founder was surprised by how flattering it is on (even on her 50+ year old body!) And our favorite one piece is still this goodie.
Cover Up
Opt for a coverup that doubles as a dress like this pretty one from Marea. A long-sleeve one protects your skin and will look chic in the evening with a bold necklace.
Strappy Sandals
These are so elegant and work for both casual and more dressy moments. They also come in a buckle version if you don’t like the wrap style. These are good if you’re a heel gal even on vacation.
Flip Flops
TKEES are the best. They may seem a tad pricey for flip-flops, but they’re all leather and very well made. If you try them (like we have), you’ll get why we love them.
Raffia Bag
This one is giving us Prada vibes and it’ll take up no room in your suitcase (or better yet, use it as your carry-on).
Straw Hat & Sunglasses
This bucket hat is a best-seller because it bounces back even after it’s been in your suitcase. The shape of these sunglasses is so chic.
Tinted Sunscreen, Mascara & Lip Gloss
We’ve tried this tinted sunscreen, and it’s so good. You get a little glow, some invisible smoothing coverage, and, most importantly, SPF. This non-clumpy cloud mascara is excellent. And hydrate and protect your lips with this gloss. Thank us later!
If your goal is to pack light, bring pieces that work harder than they look. Keep the palette neutral and tight, and almost everything will go together.

Would love a few more non- spaghetti strap options for us busty over 60 women. No rules just not flattering on me, so I don’t feel good in them. I always love a packing list post. Heading to nyc in late March for 5 days from the SF Bay Area - would love any recommendations you have for a city packing list in a shoulder season.
